Just wanted to throw this out on my blog too... Looking for some feedback, thought, etc..

That's great but the problem with this is that the power consumption of that that server actually only accounts for a very, very small portion of the power consumed by a web hosting company. There's networking equipment, backup servers, heating and cooling the data center, lighting the data center, the computers and servers used to monitor the data center, backup generators and the list goes on...

At one time I was buying renewable energy credits for myself, my family and my employees business and personal activities. I'm a little skeptical as to how much this actually helps the environment.

Anyway, I was thinking of signing up for the program below and would like to get some feedback, thoughts and/or alternatives.

I actually just signed up. I did some more reading and it makes a lot of sense. I could probably just by Green Tags/Renewable Energy Credits directly fro Bonneville like I used to but there little Green Seal is pretty cool.

This sounds like a great idea, reducing your carbon footprint in anyway possible is good for the environment. However, i have some doubts, so i'm going to investigate this further.
