My family has a small garden where we sell the Tomatoes at a local food market in Cape May. They save our Tomatoes are the BEST they have ever taste since we do not use any chemical based fertilizer or miracle grow. We only use All Natural products like SumaGreen Ag.
Love the local markets and seeing how big they have gotten.

I am trying to start a community supported agriculture co-op here in Newfoundland Canada. We have a small farm that produces local and we are trying to get other farmers involved in growing more. I agree, it is ridiculous that we source spinach from Ecuador here in Canada when we can grow much higher quality stuff right here in our own backyard.

If you want to see some examples of the kind of food we are able to grow here in our Canadian arctic climate, check out our organic food farm pics!

Happy to see people talking about where they source their food!

Default Martin Hanzalek Urban Organic Gardening Tips

When you really think about it, growing food is a simple process we have all lost touch with over the years. It was something that most of us just used to do, and it is still something all of us can achieve. I grew 15 tomato plants in buckets or worm compost in my urban garden last year and I produced over 500 tomatoes. Not only was it fun to pick them and fry green tomato sandwiches but I was also able to can a lot and I am still eating them now!

To be honest, I think growing food by ourselves is a kind of challenge for me. I cannot imagine the what look like in my garden.

I always love buying vegetables from local farmers because it saves me money. The same way, I feel that I am giving them more for their hardwork because the money will go straight to their pocket and their goods won't be bargained. The sad part is, not all the vegetables I need can be found in just one place.
