Conserving rain water

To conserve rainwater, buy a rain barrel. You can get them to look like almost anything. If you want cheap, a local home improvement store will most likely have plastic barrels. When you buy, get a large one, so that you can hold more rainwater. To make it, cut off or remove one of the flat ends if it hasn't been already. put a mesh screen over the open end (so that ONLY water goes in) and make a hole large enough for a hose at the bottom. when you put in the hose, have a ring of water tight putty around both sides of the hole so nothing leaks out. put the whole contraption under the gutter to collect when it rains

But rain water is very dirty, there might be germs and bacterias that might be harmful to you and your family.
