Conserving rain water To conserve rainwater, buy a rain barrel. You can get them to look like almost anything. If you want cheap, a local home improvement store will most likely have plastic barrels. When you buy, get a large one, so that you can hold more rainwater. To make it, cut off or remove one of the flat ends if it hasn't been already. put a mesh screen over the open end (so that ONLY water goes in) and make a hole large enough for a hose at the bottom. when you put in the hose, have a ring of water tight putty around both sides of the hole so nothing leaks out. put the whole contraption under the gutter to collect when it rains -
But rain water is very dirty, there might be germs and bacterias that might be harmful to you and your family.
