    Default Loathsome 4x4 vehicles

I just wanted to share my distaste of 4x4 vehicles, which clog space and air with themselves and pollutants. I feel that these and high performance cars should be banned, not just taxed higher. This simply means that rich people are still free to pollute out planet. Unless you live/work on a farm you don't need a 4x4. And no one needs a car that goes faster than the speed limit anyway.

It seems more of a status symbol than anything.

Some people actually believe the lie that image really is everything. (Sigh)

You must live where there are neither hills nor snow. I live on a hill and there are hills anyway I go. In the winter I need a 4x4 just to get out of my street. My husband is in sales and never knows when he may get caught 90 miles from home in a snow storm. I am very grateful that he is safer in his 4x4.

What about me? I enjoy hunting, fishing and going to track days with my corvette. Are you suggesting I give up all of my hobbies just because they require a 4x4 or race car? I think banning these vehicles is a little harsh,it's not like we're trying to ruin the world. Most of us actually try to be responsible by owning several cars, one that is eco friendly for street driving and then one for the weekends when we go hunting or racing. I, in my humble opinion, think hybrids should be banned. One prius' production process emits more pollution than my corvette would if it was my daily driver for 8 years. Considering a prius' battery will die every 8 years (best case scenario) it can be said that 4x4s and performance cars are no more damaging than the average hybrid.
