Default Gore, Obama, Pickens Energy Plans?

I've been missing in action for the last month or two but I've been meaning to post this for awhile.

I was excited when Gore announce his challenge in Washington a few months ago. Then I heard about the Boone Pickens plan and Obama's plan which both sounded like they tied into the Gore challenge.

I want to start a discussion around the differences and viability of these plans. At first they all sounded very similar but it seems like Obama's energy plan has moved away from the Gore energy plan in some aspects. Obama and Biden have been talking about Clean Coal and "Safe" Nuclear which I think deviates from Gore's plan to have all electricity come from clean renewable sources.

If anyone is more familiar with these plans I would love to hear what you have to say.

    Thanks!

    Default And now Google Plan...

I know Google has been investing a lot in solar and other renewable energy sources and they have been teamed up with General Electric to lobby Washington on alternative energy issues.

On October 1st Google announced the Google Energy Plan which calls for clean energy by 2030. Although it's less aggressive than Al Gore's plan it looks like it has a lot in common with Al Gore's Energy Plan.

It's really encouraging that so many people and companies are getting behind these plans.

The Pickens plan, seemed to me to be unrealistic in scope, while the Gore "Plan" was heavy on Ideals and low on substance. Likely Obama is at least taking it at the slow pace required (in my opinion) to transition viably. Hopefully....Industry takes up the banner (Google), and not only pushes the agenda forward, but makes a crapload of money in the process.
Between the Government incentives (still no where near the Oil subsidies), squeezing economy, and people waking up to the obvious need to get away from Carbon Fuels...We might just pull this off in 15-20 years.

I think so, to bring the clean coal and carbon industries into market Obama is using the brand name (Google). Its Great than.
