Hi everyone,
Looking at the recent introductions, it certainly seems as if the UK is becoming more aware of the need to go 'green'.
Chrissie, who, I just noticed, joined this forum recently, had told me about Wikaniko, the eco-friendly company that is quickly making large ripples in the UK with committed people at the helm who make things happen. With the help of customers and distributors they hope to help the environment in several different ways. One of their aims is to plant 10,000 trees in Africa in the next 12 months. This will not only help the environment, but also provide immediate benefits for local people.
If you do not live in the UK, you can still benefit from visiting the website. For instance, if you go to
Buy eco friendly products, services, information you will find a very nice range of free e-cards. Sending those out instead of real ones will save many trees from being chopped down. And to make sure you never forget any birthdays, anniversaries, meetings etc. they have a free 'My To Do List' email reminder service (which I haven't got around to trying out yet).
The nice thing is that now I don't feel so isolated trying to do my bit for the planet. I feel I can make a real difference to how the world will be in ten years or so, when my grandchildren are teenagers.
Thanks for reading. I hope I'll be able to give you useful feedback on your various sites and projects. (I actually got into environmental issues via health issues, organic gardening and growing my own vegetables... and the ripples just became larger and larger...)
Take care everyone,
Isabella
